New Emergency Shelter!

Meeting the Needs of Women & Children

Early in 2018, we became aware of the acute and significant need for more emergency shelter capacity in the city for women and women with children and we believed God was leading us to help meet the additional need.  And so over the past several months, after much prayer and planning and renovations and then more prayer, we are excited to announce that our new 28-bed Women’s Shelter will begin welcoming women and children on November 25, 2018 at our Esther House facility.  We receive calls daily from desperate women with nowhere to turn who need help in their immediate crisis and hope for a new life.  We are so thankful that we can now say, “YES! Welcome home!” We pray that this new facility will be a place where grace, compassion, and the gospel meet and lives can be transformed.

But we need your help! The opening of the new shelter for women and children marks our biggest ministry expansion in over 10 years. To help staff and support this new area of ministry, we are budgeting for a 15% increase in our overall budget for 2019, which equates to almost $450,000. Will you help meet this need? We are asking supporters to prayerfully consider covering this increased expense with a gift of $600, which covers a half a day of increased ministry expense, or with a gift of $1,200, which covers a full day of increased ministry expense. Monthly giving options are also available to help meet this increased expense need.

We truly value your partnership and appreciate your gift of any amount. We are excited to see what God will do in this new area of ministry! Thank you.
