It is possible to end poverty! (But not without you!)
Why do we think that, and how do we do it? The pathway to renewal starts in crisis, moves to transformation and continues in transition.
1) CRISIS (EMERGENCY SHELTER)
Our crisis shelters for men, women and children are where we meet the immediate needs of those in poverty.
Our long-term relationship renewal experiences are where men and women undergo powerful, practical and life-changing renewal that addresses the whole person.
Stepping out with a new set of life skills can be daunting. Transitional efforts and post-graduate aftercare programs are increasing our already remarkable success rate.
This is the path, and it's working. In just over two years:
383 have stable living-wage income
268 have transitioned into the community with stable housing.
According to reports cited by the United States Interagency Council on Homelessness, each of those who used to be homeless cost taxpayers on average $30-$50,000 per year in community resources. Our Renewal Program success means they are no longer in need of community resources!
THIS SAVES OUR COMMUNITY HUNDREDS OF THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS IN RESOURCES BY TRANSFORMING THEIR LIVES.
You can help make this happen.
The life-renewal work done by Peoria Rescue Ministries is entirely supported by people in the private sector. If you could help us with a donation, even a small one, we can continue to positively impact lives in the Peoria area.
